New Marlborough Select Board reappoints wiring inspector, reviews highway plans. The board unanimously reappointed Jim Kern as Alternate Wiring Inspector through June 30, 2027. Highway Superintendent Chuck Loring presented fall 2026 and 2027 road work, which includes paving the gravel section of Cagney Hill Road and one hill on Hartsville Mill River Road near Old County Road using brown oil and stone to address drainage issues.
The plan also calls for paving the gravel hill near the former sportsman's club on Canaan Valley Road within the next year. The board discussed but took no action on a Payment in Lieu of Taxes addendum for the Cassilis property, pending response from Construct.
