Planning Board charts revised warrant strategy after Town Meeting defeat.

Planning Board · Meeting of May 12, 2026

NEW MARLBOROUGH — Planning Board charts revised warrant strategy after Annual Town Meeting defeat. Chair Bob Hartt and the Board debriefed Warrant 38's failure and mapped a plan to resubmit protective bylaw changes at a Special Town Meeting tentatively scheduled for late June, breaking the defeated warrant into smaller, content-specific pieces and planning enhanced resident education through postings at public locations and a one-page FAQ sheet. The Board set a Public Hearing for June 1 at 7 p.m. at the New Marlborough Fire House, with public notification required in the Berkshire Eagle on May 18 and May 25.

In officer elections following the May 11 committee election, Chair Hartt proposed remaining as Chair and Jordan Archey assuming Vice Chair for succession planning, with a vote scheduled for May 19.
