Library Trustees approve privacy policy framework, plan spring programs

Library Trustees · Meeting of April 16, 2026

NEW MARLBOROUGH — Library Trustees move forward on comprehensive privacy policy rather than ICE-specific directive. Librarian Deb O'Brien, acting on town counsel guidance, will draft a broad privacy framework addressing patron interactions and procedural steps, informed by consultation with Great Barrington's library director; Trustees Tom Masters and Sarah Reynolds North will review when ready. The library will host a Cinco de Mayo Taco Party on May 5 with guitarist Jon Suters and an author reading May 23 featuring Leslie Wheeler discussing "Wild Cat Academy" from her Berkshire Series of Mysteries.

The town cleaner will assume library housekeeping duties after the previous contractor quit.
