Conservation Commission issues emergency well permit, continues wetlands hearing

NEW MARLBOROUGH — Conservation Commission issues emergency permit and enforces riverfront protections. The board unanimously approved an emergency well-replacement permit at 114 Downs Rd with six conditions including photo documentation, erosion controls, and one-to-one vegetation replacement. In a separate action, the commission issued an enforcement order against David Jacquier for unpermitted tree removal at 0 Konkapot Rd, requiring replanting of a minimum of 25 native trees between 4 and 6 feet in height within the riverfront zone and installation of 10 permanent "Do Not Enter: Conservation Area" signs.
The commission also continued the Notice of Intent hearing for Milo Stella's single-family house and accessory dwelling unit at 0 New Marlborough Hill Rd to May 16 to allow design amendments, and unanimously accepted withdrawal of a rare-species habitat restoration project at 0 Konkapot Rd due to erosion concerns and need for redesign.
