NEW MARLBOROUGH — Design Review Committee directs Town Hall renovation using existing 2021 design framework. All four members present voted to have EDM revise its proposal building from the 2021 schematics rather than starting from scratch. The committee agreed the renovation should use both upper and lower floors and favor an interior elevator over a lift, while rejecting alternatives such as relocating the building or reducing to single-story occupancy.
EDM will provide schematics showing both an addition option and an alternative with elevator and staircase inside the existing building. Town Administrator Mari Enoch will coordinate building programming with EDM before the committee holds a public forum on schematics.
